As Sn previous years, the meeting will be an all-day session, with distinguished agriculturalists and leading farmers from this area participating. Time 'has been provided in the schedule so that those who wish to may direct personal queries to the program speakers’.
More than COO fanners from this and nearby counties attended last year's Four-State Farmers’ meeting, and it is expected that an even larger audience will be present on January 26 if weather conditions are good.
The first Farmers' Meeting was held in 1947 as something of an experiment. It grew out of the feeling expressed by a number of farmers that they would like to get together regularly and discuss local farming problems.
They also desired to exchange ideas pertinent to local farming methods and have qualified agricultural experts bring them news of the latest farming procedures.
The meetings are unique in that they are farmer-planned and directed. As with other Farmers’ Meetings, this year’s program is a result of three-way planning. A committee of farmers, county agents and the Rural Representative of the Northern Virginia Power Company selected a program of subpects that farmers in this section of the country indicated were of greatest interest.
Hagerstown was selected as the winter meeting point because of • its central location for farmers of the fomr states.

Deadline For ACP
Next Monday, January 15, at 5 p.m. is the cut-off date for getting farm reports on practices performed under the 1950 Agricultural Conservation Program filed with the local PMA office. Most reports are already in, according to Earl Yancey, PMA chief clerk, but. there are still a few stragglers despite several newspaper notices and letters to farmesr. Farmers who expect a 1960 ACP payment, will be disappointed unless their reports are received by Mon lay.
LADIES BIBLE CLASS SERVES LUNCHEON TO BANK STOCKHOLDERS
The Ladies Bible Class of the Washington Baptist church served a luncheon on Tuesday to the stockholders of the Rappahannock National Bank. The luncheon was. held at the Washington Fire House.
