At Flint Hill Sunday
At the regular church services, Sunday, January 14, 7:30 o'clock, at Flint Hill Baptist church, the film, “A Journey Into Faith” will be shown. This is an impressive, instructive film on Christ’s api pearance to "the two of them” on the way to Emmaus. It is a sound picture with the running time of 34 minutes.
Cleopas, a prosperous sheep* raiser of Emmaus, has built up a good buslhess selling sheep for sacrificial offerings at the temple in Jerusalem. Recently, he be* came converted to the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth. As the tyranny and high taxes of Rome become an increasing burden, Cleopas and his friend, Joel, hope that Jesus will organize a revolt against the oppression.
Cleopas finds it necessary to borrow money, using as security his next delivery of sheep -to the temple. The high priests learn of his devotion to Christ, and on his arrival in Jerusalem sternly warn him to denounce Jesus. Refusing this, Cleopas soon learns that his sheep will no longer be accepted by the temple.
Faced with financial ruin, Cleo* pas plans with Joel to seek aid of Jesus .to secure justice. Riding into the desert, they meet with zealots who wish at once to revolt against Rome, with Jesus as their leader.
