The next time yon ire in a eer-' tain drug store in a neighboring town and Mr. Turner starts telling you what's in the Bible, don't let him get by with about half of it. (If you want to call him down on the spot, take Bartlett’s Familiar Quotations along with you.) The other day he threw a bit of ▼erBe about, and insisted that it came from the Bible.
Dear Sir: A man named John Milton wrote a bit he called an ode “On His Blindness," three lines of which run thusly:
. . . Thousands at his bidding
speed,
And post o’er land and ocean
without rest, _They also serve who sonly stand
and wait.

During the summer .of 1950, when waves of heat swept down upon us, strong resolutions were made that never again, no matter how cold it got, would there be complaints of zero weather and howling winds.
During the past few weeks, those words have not only been eaten; they’ve been chewed, regurgitated, and digested.
We’ve cried “uncle” to no avail. We’ve had enough for one spell, and a slight change toward the warmer would be appreciated.
It’s just another case of having to “eat our words’’—and don’t you invariably have that to do.!
There comes to mind a story of a very wise man of a few years back. His daughter eloped. “What shall we do?’* cried the mother. “Tell her to come on back home and act as if nothing were amiss," said the wise father, “that’s what you’ll do eventually, anyway, so why say a bunch of harsh words you'll have to eat later.”
Flint Hill 4-H Club
Holds January Meeting
The^Flint Hill 4-H Club opened its January meeting with Dorothy Jane Williams reading a Bible selection. Then Shelby Pullen led in some songs. Miss. Sollenberger announced that a club contest will be held next month and the girls must bring their projects. There ‘Will also be a picnic. The club with the largest percentage of members there gets a band. The girls talked about their “So You Want To Sew" housekeeping and clothing project; the boys talked about dairy and beef cows and hogs. Polly Nethers then led in a game. The meeting lasted one hour and two minutes.
