James Turner Norman
James Turner Norman, age 52 yean, and eldest son of William O. Norman and the late Mollie Settle Norman of Woodville, died at the home of his father early Monday morning, January 4, 1951, after several days illness.
Mr. Norman had been living for many yean in Fauquier county and Washington, D.C. He had been formerly married and is survived by a daughter, Mn. Charles Siefers of Cumberland, Md., and three grandsons. He was employed in a garage and also as a dairy hand much of the time.
Besides his father, he leaves 6 sisten and two brothers. The sisters are Mrs. Weldon Burke, Mrs. B. W. Roberts, Mrs. TThomas Burke, and Mn. Raymond Hawkins of Woodville; Mn,. Burrell
of Rixeyville and Mrs. Ken. neth Fortune of Front Royal.
The brothers are William B. Norman of Front Royal; and Milton Norman of Woodville.
Funeral services were held at the Forest Crove Baptist church at Viewtown on Thursday, January 4, with Rev. Warren Corein officiating. Burial was by the side of his mother in the Forest Grove cemetery.
Active pallbearere were W. R. Burke, H. W. Cannon, Kenny Fortune, Raymond Hawkins, B. W. Robson, and A. P. Settle.
Among those selected as honorary bearers and carrying the floral tributes were Hazel Burke, Thelma Hawkins, Rena Norman, Edward Hawkins, Wilson Burke, Lucy Settle, Gladys Settle, Daniel Norman, Marvin Hawkins and Garfield Burke.
Birth Announcement
Mr. and Mrs. Wood Fincham, of Washington, announce the birth of a daughter, born Tuesday, January 9, 1951, Front Royal hospital. Mrs. Fincham before her marriage was Miss Annie Belle Pullen of Flint Hill.
MOVE INTO NEW PASTORIUM
Rev. and Mrs. S. Felton Carter have moved into the new Baptist pastorium as Woodville.
The attractive new brick bungalow is on the north side of the road, adjoining the home of Mrs. Lily Barber.
(This name of pastorium is very confusing. The Presbyterians have a manse; the Episcopalians have a rectory; the Methodists have a parsonage; and the Baptists have a pastorium. A suggestion is herby offered: - call then?* all the preacher’s home.)
