A leader training meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Henry Sisk October 30. The demonstration given was on the “Importance of a Good Breakfast and Fc^ds for Health and Pep.”
At the end of the meeting Mrs. Sisk served some of the best cookies. Below is the recipe for them: Golden Bar
2/3 cups shortening
2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 t. vanilla
3/4 c. chopped walnuts
1 1/4 c. sifted flour
2 t. baking powder • 1/4 t. salt
Blend sugar and shortening, add beaten egge, add chopped nuts, add dry ingredients and mix well. Spread in greased pan evenly and cook slowly in moderate oven (400 degrees f.) until golden brown, about '80 minnfos
