Haaker, On WRVA
For John Powell Day
This week the William Haaker s returned to Richmond in time to make one -of their few “At Home with the Haakers” radio appearances of the season over WRVA. This was in cooperation with the John Powell Foundation toward the John Powell Day Celebration on November 5. Mr. and Mrs. Haaker discussed the music of John Powell and mentioned the work -that Powell had done toward the establishment of the Virginia Symphony Orchestra.
The Haaker Radio Programs will be scheduled only from time to time because of 'Mr. Haaker’s extremely heavy schedule of piano tours. This month he will go as far as west as the Texas Panhandle area with recitals in Lubbock and Amarillo, Texas. Enroute will be concerts in Mississippi and Georgia.
