DR. E. W. BROWN
Dr. E. W. Brown was the son of -Mr, and Mrs. Whitfield Brown of Brown’s Store, Culpeper ‘county. He received his M.D. at the University of Virginia. Dr. Brown -married Miss Elizabeth Eastham, formerly of Rappahannock, but living in Texas at the time of their marriage. He practiced medicine in Rappahannock for over 60 years, was an active Mason and a member of the Baptist church. He died June 2, 1950, at the age of 92. Dr. C. E. Johnson was born on the Red Oak in Rappahannock, moved to Washington where he rwas associated with W. G. Wood in the mercantile business. He received his D.D.S. from Johns Hopkins University. After graduation, he settled in Newport News to practice his profession. Later he came to Sperryville and lived on the farm that is . now owned by his son, C. E. Johnson, Jr. He was a member of the Rappahannock County School Board for 40 years, retiring in 1948; he was a member of Sperryville Baptist church.
