It appears difficult to legally prosecute these men except under the Virginia Paint Law 1950 which provides that all paints sold in the State be registered with this Department and bear proper labels in order to avoid fraud and deception which would otherwise occur. It is not the purpose of the Law to grade paint but only to provide true labels for these containers.
The officials of one county have notified their police officers to be on the lookout for these offenders and have stated they would be prosecuted if the facts presented a proped case. .With your aid and the co-operation of the law enforcement officers throughout Virginia this type of fraud and deception can be eliminated.
