James W. Turner, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. James A. Turner of Washington and Donald A. White, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Carter of Washington are completing their AF basic airmen indoctrinatioh course at Lackland Air Force Base, the “Gateway to the Air Force.” ,<
Lackland, situated near 8a n Antonio, is the world’s largest air force base, site of Air Force basic training, for. men and women, headquarters of the Hurmafn Resource Research Center, and home ef AF’s Officer Candidate aSfi&bol.
Their basic training is preparing them for entrance into Air Force technical training and for assignment in specialized work. The course includes a scientific evaluation of their aptitude and inclination for following a particular vocation and career. >
• There will l>e a Weiner Roast given at the home of Mrs.-Mabel Brent on August 15 at 8 p.m. Sponsored by the Usher Board of the First Baptist Church.
An all day meeting was held at the church of Rev. A. T. Flurry on Sunday. The visiting preachers were Rev. Goodall of Washington, D. O aiul Rev. Mose King of L'indon.
Those attending the meeting were Mrs.- Ella Donnes, James A. Turner, and family, Wilhur Williams, Georgy Weathers, Lee Porter, Wilhur Fletcher, Mrs. Fletcher, Rev. Rol>ert L. Fletcher and Mrs. Fletceh of Front Royal.
