These are difficult days. To get along one has to he a contortionist* First, of all, he’s got to keep his back to \he wall, and his ear to the ground. He’s expected to put his shoulder to the wheel, his nose to the grindstone, keep a level head and both feet on the ground. And, at the same time, have his head in the clouds, so he can look for the silver lining.

Some fellow has suggested that ■ Congress be televised. He got the bright idea after the telecasting of the^two . conventions. The gentleman gave as his reasons that it would streamline the “foolishness” and place the members of our governing body more on their toes if they knew they were being checked on by the voter.,,
I disagree with the gentleman.
