Letter To The Editor
Last Friday I joined with other members of the community in watching the “graduating exercises” of bne group of the aquatic program conducted by the Rappahannock Chapter of the American Red Cross. ,
It carried me back over twentyfive years to . the first Learn to . Swim campaign in which I was an instructor. There was that same determination to “do it this time” and the same pridejn_accomplishment by even the youngest ^ducklings. This time I joined the other parents in that moment of suspense, “can he do it?” and felt that same smile creep over my face when “he dood it!” I hdpe, too, that Mr. Camp got a lift of the heart over being able to accomplish so much in so short a time.
I would like to join the citizens of the community in expressing the appreciation of our family to Mrs. Slaughter and Mr. Davis and other members of the Red Cross for making it possible. > This was. an opportunity which I would like to see repeated in 1953, when the Paddlers of 1952 will become Beginners and the Beginners' of this year will move on to higher classifications.
