The sad condition now confronting the newly-organized Amissville Volunteer Fire Company is easy to understand. They’re like the fellow with a new car and nowhere to go, or a girl with a new dress and nowhere to wear it. No one in Amissville will have a fire, now that the company has the equipment and is ready to go. -Of course, the mail carrier is teasing again (and as usual). He says the Amissville Fire company is unlike an undertaker going into business: he’s burning up for somebody to die, while the fire company is dying for somebody to burn up.' The mail carrier pulled that story and then left for an extended trip through the southern states. One of these days he’s going to pull some of his teasing and the Amissville people are goin’ to catch him before he can run. ‘ . o o o
