Political "conventions get held to nominate candidates for the Big Office. We're not sure exactly how it is done; we’re not certain what each candidate stands for; hut we know we're supposed to elect the proper man to fill the job. /

In Older to add to our confusion, it seems the little-duck-inthe-big-puddles are doing a lot of quacking, while what we’d always considered some of. our big-ducks are keeping so quiet that their silence is noisy;

There might be cause for our spirits to be crushed with all this lack of information as to the whys and wherefores, but, .with hope springing eternal, we muddle along. In our politics, like in our everyday living, if we make a mistake in our judgment and elect the wrong man, we can get rid ofa him and try again. The country is young, that is true, but we are old enough to know we can outlive a mistake—which iwe have often— and try again.
