Group Holds Annual

Meeting Jan. 12

The annual meeting of Rappahannock Home Mutual Fire Insurance Company was held January 12, 1963 in the courthouse at Washington. More than 300 of the 600 members were represented in person or by proxy. The insurance company is the oldest cooperative In the county, dating back to 1876.

Insurance in force Dec. 31, 1961 was $3,673,320. Amount written in 1962 was $301,700 and that which wsa cancelled the same year amounted to $376,660, making the total in force at close of 1962 $3,598,570.

The Class A insurance rate of the company is the lowest in the state.

Re-elected to office were W. H. Massie, Jr, president; C. E. Johnson, Jr., vice-president, and D. D. Miller, Sec.-Treas. The above meeting was followed by a meeting of., the Board of Directors which convenes every two months. A discussion was held on recent applications for new insurance. •*--——mobile
