National Egg Cooking Contest Announced
If you're particularly adept at egg cookery - you'll be .Interested in "a national egg Woking contest which will be sponsored by a leading poultry organization t h i“s year. . . T- Denver D. Bragg, poultry specialist at Virginia Polytechnic Institute, says prizes will include a $1,000 U. S. savings bond for the first place winner in the senior division. Ten other prizes will be given in each division as well as awards to be offered by state poultry organizations. State committees which are now being organizaed will help distribute entry blanks and determine state winners for paricipation in the national contest.
State contests will be held sometime between March 1 • and April 8, and the national finals will be held in Chicago May 16 and 17. Bragg says aims of the egg cooking contest are to stimulate homemakers to incorporate eggs in their planning of well-balanced family meals, not only for breakfast, but for other meals, and to encourage youth to develop early regular egg eating habits.
