Royal Banks Merge

The -merger of the Citizens National Bank of Front Royal and the First National Bank of Flint Hill became effective January 2, 1963, The annual meeting of the stockholders of the combined bank was held at the Virginia Gentleman Restaurant in Front Royal on January 8. Stockholders and their guests present at the meeting totaled 175 and more than 90% of the outstanding stock was represented. I By vote of the stockholders Ithe number of directors was set at 20, or twice as many as the previous year. Directors unanimously elected are W. C. Armstrong, jr., G. jAlton Atwood, W. D. Blanton, Reuben Brady, Mrs. Ruby W. Carper, S. B. Downing, jr.,Duncan C. Gibb, Ben R. Lacy, III, Glen Robertson and W. W. Robertson, all re-elected; E. W. Bowen Alton W. Matthews, Dr. F. D. Whitworth and Samuel Zuckerman, all of Front Royal, and Lewis P. Moore, Emory C. Russell, John R. Moore, jr., John S. Browning and Herbert Foster,Flint Hill, and W. A. Miller, Wash* ington, Va. Howard A. Duncan served as chairman of the nominating committee. Other members were Mrs. Roberta Spalding and Dr. Milton A.
