Margaret P. Updike
Mrs. Margaret Part low Updike. wife of the late Daniel Cleveland Updike of Washington, Virginia, died early Tuesday morning. January 15. 1963 at the home of her son. Virgil R. Updike. Born Dec. 2. 1878, the daughter of Burrell Partlow and Valerie Updike, she was a life long resident of Rappahannock County.
Mrs. Updike is survived by two sons, H. Taylor Updike and Virgil R. Updike and one daughter, Mrs. Kathleen Updike Scudere, all of Washington: three grandchildren. Mrs. Frank Parker of Culpeper, H. T. Updike, Jr., now serving in the Navy, and Gail Updike of Washington, and numerous inieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at Washington Masonic Cemetery Thursday, Jan. 17 at 2 p.m. conducted by the Rev. Warren Wilbur. The body will remain at the home of Mr. and Mrs. P. W. Scudere from noon until 2 p.m. on Thursday. Funeral arrangements are in charge of Geest Funeral Parlor. Pallbearers, all nephews of the deceased, will be Ceorge Ross, R. Beatty, Frank. Cannon, Luther Partlow and Taylor Bishop, of Arlington. Q. D. Gasque of Harrisonburg. William Cannon of Culpeper and Lyle Updike of Washington.
