Gene Hackley, accused of statutory rape, was convicted at the November 1962 term in Circuit Court on plea of guilty and sentenced to three years in the State Penitentiary. At the January opening term Hackley was paroled on recommendation of parole officer. Commonwealth’s Attorney Davis opposed parole because the accused’s record showred eight prior convictions.
Junior Tucker, convicted at
jNovember 1962 term on charge of larceny was sentenced to five years in the State Penitentiary.
; Elzie Jenkins was convicted at September 1962 term, charged with unauthorized use of automobile and sentenced to one year in the State Penitentiary. At November 1962 term he was paroled by the Court ^n recommendation of parole [officer. At January term parole was revoked for violation.

Hold Luncheon Meeting
Among those from Rappahannock County attending Vlr ginia Breeder’s Association luncheon meeting in Warrenton on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Voigt, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Miller, Wade Massie, III and David Evans. The guest speaker was Mr. Jack Price of Florida, owner of the famous race horse ;Carry Back. As well as making an interesting speech Mr. Price showed a movie of all
jthe races won by Carry Back Iwhich has made him one of 'the big money winners.
J. B. Williams was its first president; W. G. Dearing was second and Frank H. Cary was third. Mr. Brown- ’ ing was the last president.
