i Walnut Lodge nearSperryyille operated by Mrs. John Wayland was burglarized the night of January 9. Beer, cigarette, fruit and cakes ^vere taken, accord^g (o Sheriff .C. K. Estes who was assisted in the investigation of the crime by Trooper 4Paul Dicks. Six boys, ages 15 to 22 ~ Were apprehended in Madison by Sheriff Carroll Lillard of that county, after breaking and entering Berry's store at Banco. They frlso confessed to the burglary in Rappahannock. All of the youths were from Madison County. •Study Comm. Named for Washington Fire Co. Twenty-eight interested people attended the January meeting of Washington Fire Company whichWasheld Monday evening at the courthouse, according to Gibson Wharton, Chief. This is the largest group to attend ra •meeting, and much interest in the organization was revived. Two new members were enrolled when Eugene Burke and Richard Menefee applied for membership. A committee was appointed to study the possibility of purchasing a lot for a fire house. This committee included W. F. Moffett, Jr., i T. Morgan Johnston and J. Lester Burke.
