The Sperryville Firemen’s Carnival will open its four day list of events on Wednesday, July ,15th at 6:30 p.m. In addition to an excellent assortment of rides and games, this opening night will feature the giving away of fifteen silver dollars. The ever popular Grand Parade will be held on Thursday, July 16 starting at 7:00 E. D. T. At its conclusion a box supper for one dollar will be served on the Carnival grounds or your choice of other good food. The Fire Company would appreciate voluntary donations of pies and cakes for this supper and they may be left at the Food Booth Thursday between 1 and 5 o’clock. Friday night, July 17 the "Queen* will be crowned by Lonesome George of Radio Station WRAA in Luray. Saturday night will be Prize Night when such prizes as a Ford Fairlane V8, a $50.00 Savings Bond, a $25.00 Savings Bond, a walnut rocking chair, a case of motor oil and car battery will be given away. Come and enjoy the various entertainments, have fun and help the Fire Company.
