Rep. John O. Marsh, Jr. will visit Rappahannock County Tuesday (July 14) stopping at the post office in each community to talk with citizens in regard to any problems they might havf which involve agencies of the federal govern ment. Congressman Marsh will be following the long-standing practice in the 7th Congressional District of making such community visits during recesses and adjournments of Congress. (The House of Represents tives will be in recess next week on account of the Republican National Convention) His schedule follows:

Rain Alleviates
Drought Temporarily
A gentle rain which began early Wednesday morning brought temporary relief from a drought which threatened corn crops and the late hay crop. At 10 o’clock .23 of an inch of rain had fallen. During the month of June the precipitation measured in Amissville by Miss Lucille Riley who keeps the official guage, was .60 of an inch while in Washington Miss Ruby Jenkins reported 1.32 for the same period. For the month of June 1963 the Amissville measure was 3.34 and Washington, 4.23.
