because of smaller supplies than a year ago. Farm prices for broilers in Virginia have moved up about 2 cents since the middle of June and are currently running about 1 1/2 cents above a year ago. National broiler supply average in July is expected to be down about < 2 per cent from the previous July. In Virginia weekly supplies should average about 10 per cent under comparable weeks of last year. Favorable price factors are lower supplies nationally and in Virginia, good export movement, and many southern states marketing broilers at lighter weights. Farm prices last week were 15.5- 16 cents in Virginia and 16.5- 16.9 cents in DelMar.Va. North Carolina and Georgia prices were 14-14.5 cents with contract sales up to 1.5 cents higher.
