The program, In its second summer at VPLis being spon sored by the National Science Foundation and VPI, The students are given close sup ervision and instruction by members of the VPI faculty. In addition to the lectures of the professors, the students will hear addresses from sev eral noted men of science from other institutions who will be in Blacksburg to participate in the program.
The purpose of the program is to provide students of high intelligence and high scientific interest an opportunity to get a taste of research and intensive training, and stiumlate them, toward successful careers in mathematics science and engineering.
