Reduces Fee
The daily fee of 50(5 per person for entrance to Shenandoah National Park will be reduced to 25(5 effective April 15, Acting Superintendent Jerry B. House announced today. The annual fee of $7.00 for non-commercial vehicles rein a ins as pr ev io u s ly announced, according to House. He pointed out that the Recreation Conservation sticker purchased at that rate entitles all occupants of the vehicle displaying the sticker to enter any Federal area for which a fee is charged as many times as desired during the year ending March 31, 1966. The fees are being collected under the Land and Water Conservation Fund Act of 1965 and will go into a special fund from which Congress will make appropriations to provide public outdoor recreation areas and facilities. The States will be eligible for 60 per cent of the annual appropriations after meeting certain requirements.
