Care of Gift Plants
Plants make an excellent gift because when given the proper care they will bloom for a long period of time. If there is an understanding of how the plants grow, they can be made to bloom again for several years to come. After receiving a gift plant, the plant requires the four following conditions:
1. Give it full sun. 2. Give it cool temperatures 3. Keep it out of drafts 4. Keep the soil moist, but not soggy. Most of the flowering plants require sunlight for satisfactory growth, so you will want to put them in the brightest window in your house. The best night temperature for all plants is between 50 and 60 degrees. The length of life of a flowed lng plant is reduced by high night temperature regardless of other conditions. Most flowering plants do better down around 60 degrees during the day and 50 degrees at bight. If you put your plants in a cool place at night the flowers will last much longer.
