Recent cases to come before the Curcuit Court in Rappahannock
were grand larceny, reck-j less driving and malicious shooting. Alvin Edward Meadows entered a plea of guilty to grand larceny charges, the result of the theft of walnut logs near Washington. He was sentenced to 12 months in jail which was suspended on payment of court costs and that restitution be made for the logs. He is on probation, for a period of three years. Mea< dows is from Prince William. William E. Cameron, Jr. of Huntly, charged with reckless driving after a single vehicle collision at Huntly, was found pot guilty by * five-man jury. Jurors were, D. Lyle Miller, jr., foreman; James M. Ashby, Eugene M. Dodson, R. M. Menefee and Thomas Williams.
Garvice Chester Matheny did not appear in court and was found guilty of speeding. Fine was set at $40 and costs. Matheny had been found guilty of the charge in county court, then noted an appeal, but did not appear in Circuit Court. George B.Jenkins ofSperryville plead guilty to charges of malicious shooting and was sentenced to 12 months in jail and costs. Sentence was suspended on payment of costs and he was put on probation for three years.
