Forest tree planting for the spring of 1965 is drawing to a close, reports William C. Vernam, forester for the Virginia Division of Forestry. 51,000 seedlings have been planted in Rappahannock County this spring with 17 landowners in the county carrying out reforestation projects Black walnut seed and white pine, loblolly pine, Virginia pine and yellow poplar seedlings were planted in the county on abandoned land and cutover woodland to produce stands of trees for future harvests of pulpwood and sawtimber.
