Honor Teachers on
‘Appreciation Day’
Students at Rappahannock County High School honored their teachers with a special day of activities in appreciation of their untiring efforts in the field of education. An assembly program opened the day with Mr. O. A. Norton, Superintendent of Schools, as guest speaker. A student representaitive from each room in the school made a short talk at the assembly also* __.... ....... A vase of flowers was placed on the desk of each teacher and they were also given a corsage or boutonniere. The teacher’s lounge had the bulletin board appropriately decorated for the day. A highlight of the day was a special luncheon served the teachers in the home economics room. They were given paper medallions depicting characteristics of each of them. Page Moffett was master of ceremonies of the day, and all students were “dolled up* for the occasion with the boys in suits and the girls in heels and spring dresses.
