Mrs. Grace Wallihan Massie wife of Wade Hampton Massie^ III of Hampden Hall Farm’ Washington, Va. died Sunday' April 18, at her residence following an illness of five months. She was a native of Front Royal, daughter of George Wallihan and Pearl Cooper Wallihan. She was 34. Mrs. Massie was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church at Washington, Va. and the Rappahannock Library Board. Besides her husband and parents she is survived by three sons, Wade Wallihan Massie, Michael Miller Massie, George Hampton Massie, and one daughter Mary Brooke Massie, all of the home address; one half-sister, Mrs. Margaret Hudson of Richmond and a half-brother, Lewis Wallihan of Front Royal. A graveside funeral service was held Tuesday at 11 a. m. in the Massie family cemetery at Meadow Grove Farm near Amissville, conducted by the Rev. Charles F. Glaenzer. Serving as pallbearers were Oliver Durant, James W Fletcher, P. Lee Thornton’ T. C. Lea, Jr., John R. DeBergh, M. R. Bradford, W Arthur Miller, Robert Cruse and Dr. John P. Snead, IV. Geest Funeral Parlors of Culpeper was in charge of arrangements. The family requested that flowers be omitted. Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of contributions to the Cancer Fund.
