Francis Wendell Latham, Jr of Amissville was graduatet from Virginia Polytechnic Institute at commencement exercises held Sunday, June 13 He received a Bachelor o: Science degree with a majoi in agricultural education. He is the son of Mrs. W. R Bowen of Amissville and the late Mr. Latham, and the grandson of Mrs. A. C. Latham, Amissville. He was graduated from Culpepei County High School in 1961 While at Tech, he was manager of the varsity basebal team for three years; a merr ber of the Collegiate F.F.A. the Monogram Club and the Block and Bridle Club. Mr. Latham has accepted £ position as Vocational Agriculture instructor at C. T, Smith High School at Ladysmith in Caroline County. The Honorable Albertis S. Harrison, Jr., Governor ol Virginia, made the Commence ment address. Mrs. North Awarded Shopping Spree
Mrs. Ada North of Chester Gap was the winner of a “Shopping Spree’ contest sponsored by the Pepsi Cola Bottling Company. Mrs. North’s shopping spree was for five minutes and in that length of time she succeeded in carrying out approximately $150 in merchandise. She shopped at the Crossroads Grocery in Front Royal.
