Three Local Scouts
Awarded Gold Palm
Three Scouts of Troop #64 Washington, Va. were awarded a gold palm on Eagle Rank at a Court of Honor held Monday night in Luray. They are Page Moffett, Jimmie Jenkins and David Palmer. In addition to this award, Page Moffett received merit badges for World Brotherhood and Chemistry; Jimmie Jenkins and David Palmer for Bookbinding and Chemistry. Awards given to other members of Troop #64 were; James S t r i n gf e 11 o w, second class; Daniel Hitt, first class; John Henry Williams, first class and personal fitness merit badge; Champlin Carney, first class and personal fitness badge; Stewart Hawkins, Star Scout and nature, reading, camping and first aid merit badges; C. E. Giles, Jr., Life Wage W. Massie. life and merit badges in Citizenship in the Nation, animal industry and scholarship. Mike Massie who is Mascot for the Troop, was present to receive awards for Scouts who were unable to be there.
Hunting, Fishing License To Expire Soon
The Virginia Commission of Game and Inland Fisheries re> minds sportsmen that all Vie ginia hunting and fishing licenses expire June 30. “Each July the number of arrests for fishing without a license reaches its peak for the year presumably because many persons forget to obtain their new licenses at the proper time,” said Law Enforcement Chief John McLaughlin. Licenses for the 1965-66 fiscal year may now be purchased from some 3J_5 county clerks and license agents throughout the state, but may not be used until July 1, 1965.
