Attend Music Camp

Karl Burke has received a scholarship for a week at Saint George’s Camp, Orkney Springs, Va. The scholarship was given by Rappahannock County Ministerial Association, and is awarded to encourage interest in music among young people. The week of camp, from July 25 to July 31, will be a Boy’s Choir Conference and Camp and is operated by the Episcopal Church.

Karl was selected because of his interest and progress in music. Though he hashadonly a year of music instruction, he has been pianist and organist at Washington Methodist Church for nine years. Karl is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Burke of Washington and he is a sixth grade student at Washington Elementary School.

Mrs. Joel L. Jenkins and Mrs. Frank Cary of Woodstock joined a group of friends from Washington, D. C. on Thursday and spent a few days at the World's Fair and other points of interest in New York; They returned to their home on Sunday. Among those attending the Coons-Petig wedding Saturday at St. John’s Catholic Church in Front Royal were Mrs. F. W. Spalding, Mrs. Emory Russell and son Terry, Mrs. Mary Krause and Mrs. W. A. Moor^ Mrs. J. P. Cook attended the Commencement exercises last Monday of the Clark Courv ty High School in Berryville. Her granddaughter Miss Linda Cook was a member of the graduating class. Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Walker and two children of Falls Church were week-end guests in the J. P. Cook home. Sunday dinner guests of Mr^ James M. Settle were Mr. and Mrs. James F. Amory of Base} Switzerland and Miss Kate Walker of Washington. John B. Browning of Richmond spent the week-end with his parents Mr. and Mrs. John S. Browning. James Bowling of Washington, D.
