At the regular meetings of the Rappahannock and Warren County School Boards held last week, Mrs. Robert G. Leonard Jr., principal of the A. S. Rhodes Elementary School in Front Royal, was appointed Director of Instruction for the school division. Mr. Leonard began his teach ing e xpe r i e n c e at Rappaharv nock County High School in 1954. He also taught at Warren County High School prior to becoming principal of the Rhodes school in 1961. Mr. Leonard holds a B. S. degree from VP I the Master of Education degree from the University of Virginia and has completed additional graduate work in supervision, curriculum, and administration. In 1959-60 and 61 he attended the National Science Foundation Institute. He is currently se* ving on a State Department of Education Elementary Math© matics Committee and will serve as discussion leader at the State Elementary Principals’ Conference at Radford College this month. Mr. Leonard served as presi dent of the Warren County Ed ucation Association and as pro gram chairman of the District 9 Principals’ Group.
