Honorary Degree

Conferred Mr. Math

Gallaudet College conferred the honary degree of Doctors of Laws on George Edward Muth during the one hundred first commencement in Wash ington, D. C. on Monday. Gallaudet is the only college in the world for the deaf ana students come from all 50 states and about 15 foreign countries for instruction. Mr. Muth is a resident of “Stonehaven" Woodville and a prominent business man and philanthropist of Washington, D. C. He is president of the Rappahannock Hunt and is active in many local activities.

Summer English Classes Begin at RCHS

Summer classes in English will be held at Rappahannock County High School beginning Monday, June 21. The classes will be from 8 a.m. until 12 noon each day and will be instructed by the Rev. B. G. Titchenell. They will continue for 20 days.

Notice, Art Enthusiasts

Artist Joy Luke will hold an organizational meeting Thurs day, June 24 at 2 p. m. in the Rappahannock Library in Washington for anyone interested in Art Classes.

Historical Society Charter Membership Deadline Near

The Fourth of July was voted the deadline by the Historical Society for charter membership. Have you gotten yours yet? This is an excellent opportunity to provide a worthwhile gift to a member of the family, a friend or associate. It could be a birthday or anniversary present, ideal for a graduation present. A beauti ful card with a hand sketched view of Fletchers Mill, done by Mrs. Isaac Parrish, will remain a coveted possession of all charter members. The annual membership is $5.00 for family, $3.00 for individuals, and $1.00 for Junior^ There are nearly 150members now, including several from out of the County, and as far away as Baltimore.
