Letters have been received this week from the American National Red Cross-Fauquier Chapter, serving Rappahannock and Fauquier Counties, calling attention to the 1965 Fund Drive now in progress. In it were mentioned some of the services being undertaken in the local area. These are important and merit support.
More far reaching are the needs of our servicemen and their families. Not since the Korean conflict has the Ameri can Red Cross been as busy helping servicemen and their families as it is today because of the situation in Viet Nam. Hurricane Betsy will require Red Cross relief expenditures exceeding $14 million, it was announced on October 6, as southern Louisiana victims continue to apply for ARC recovery aid. These two statements alone will prompt all Americans to want to share generously in financing relief to the suffering caused by disaster. Your American Red Cross is there! Let us help keep it there and wherever needed by contributing to this year’s Fund Drive.
