Mrs. Cary Thornhill and grandsons, c. G. and David Thornhill were overnight guests Friday of her sister Mrs. A. B. Horns. Dinner guests Monday last week of Mr. and Mrs. Cary Thornhill were Mrs. Thornhill 8 sister Mrs. A. S. Combs of Clarksburg, W. Va., Mrs. Estelle Stengler of Minneapolis, Minn., Stant Weaver of Washington, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Weaver of WinstonSalem, N. C., and Mrs. James Thornhill of Culpeper. With the exception of Mrs. James Thornhill all were overnight guests. Wednesday all were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Hawkins and on Thursday Mr. and Mrs. George Butler entertained the group at dinner. Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Burke were the Rev. and Mrs. Cecil Carder and family of Culpeper. Mrs. Annie King of Washington, D. C. was a week-end guest of Mr. and Mrs. Carlyle Brown and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Winkler and family. Sunday dinner guests of the Brown’s were Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Weaver. On Saturday they all visited Mr, and Mrs. Franklin Butler and family of Culpeper.
Mrs. James Hamilton and Miss Peggy Burke of Silver Spring, Md. were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Brew Burke. They were supper guests Saturday of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Thornhill along with the Misses Ann and Nancy Thornhill and Ronnie Burke. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Weaver had members of their family as guests on Sunday: Mr. and Mrs. Jack Weaver and sons Mike, Gary and Butch of Alexandria; Mi', and Mrs. Roy Beck and son Kenneth of Fairfax; Mr. and Mrs. Bill Burke and daughter Dawn of Manassas; and Robert Weaver and daughter Mary Ann. On Saturday Mr. and Mrs. John Jenkins, John, Jr. and Doris Lee visited Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jenkins in Richmond. Other guests were Mrs. Claude Bright and Mrs. Shirley Fry of Sperryville. The Women’s Missionary Society of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church met Wednesday at the Church. Mrs. George Butler, president, was in charge of the meeting.
