Can Register Arts &

Crafts Exhibits Today

Today, Thursday,is the day that Arts and Crafts objects should be taken to Rappahannock Library to be entered in the Arts and Crafts Show. Members of the committee will be there between 1 and 5 p. m. to receive all exhibits. The Art6 and Crafts Committee wants to emphasize the fact that you do not have to be a member of the project to enter an exhibit and there is no competition. All people are urged to show their handiwork, whether you be man, woman or child. Last year there was some reluctance expressed by potential exhibitors because they believed their work wasn't good enough. They are to be reminded that all of us are amateurs, that all feel a little shy and hesitant about showing, but that all are good sports. We have learned that what one viewer thinks is pretty, another viewer can’t stand to look St, that it is variety which makes the show interesting, and that in modern art “everything goes.* It is not in the spirit of competition or conceit that you are asked to enter the Show but in the spirit of frienct ly cooperation and justifiable pride in your own as well as your ne i g h b o r ’ s effort. Please bring in your work so that others might enjoy it. The Rappahannock Library will be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoon from 2 til 5 p. m. for the public to see the display. No adj mission is charged.
