Itinerant Laborer
Shot Fatally in Brawl
An itinerant worker was killed and another laborer was stabbed in the neck in an apple orchard near Flint Hill Thursday.
Dead is John W. Baxter of gunshot wounds from a 25 calibre pistol. John W. Baxter was dead on arrival at Warren Memorial Hospital of gunshot wounds and Nathanial Wells was in serious condition from stab wounds in the throat. Wells has been charged by Sheriff Charles K. Estes of the felonious slaying of Baxter. Wells remains a patient in the hospital.
Rummage Sale
A Rummage Sale will be held Saturday, October 23rd from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Bradford’s Store in Flint Hill. It is sponsored by the Flint Hill Fire Auxiliary for the benefit of the Baptist and Methodist churches. Donations for the sale may be left at Bradford’s store or contact a member of the Fire Auxiliary.
