The magazine sales cam paign is underway at Rappahannock County High School with students striving hard to reach the goal of $1,000 by the close of the drive on Octo ber 18. Incentive awards are offered each week for high sales by students.

..RICHMOND -- Plans are Underway by the State Highway Department and Virginia Military Institute to jointly sponsor the 19th annual Highway Conference beginning at Lexington October 28. The pro'gram calls for a diversified, two-day exchange of opinions between engineers, state and local officials. Procedures will begin at Jackson Memorial Hall at 9 a.m. The first session will begin at 10 a.m. Keynote speakers include Governor Albertis S. Harrisoi^ Rex Whitton, federal highway administrator, and Senator FitzGerald Bemiss. The annual conference, intended to examine and review various engineering projects and operations will cover a wide variety of panel discussions, ranging from a review of interstate rest areas, street and highway problems in the Commonwealth’s growing urban centers, and the contribution of secondary roads to outdoor recreation.
