Yes the soil in your back yard may differ from that in your front yard, even on a small lot. Well-drained, moderately deep Albemarle fine sandy loam shown at left above is “Good” for septic tank disposal fields while the soil to the right has an impermiable pan sub soil and is unsuited for this purpose, or for hard surface driveways.
