Many counties won't allow, buildings on flood plains, (at bottom) Soil in the foreground could be somewhat poorly drained Belvoir loam; soil on the well-drained hill in the background is Eubanks loam. Both of these soil types occur in Rappahannock. Also there are several other types just as desirable, or undesirable as these for homesites.
