World War II veterans have just a year and a half left to obtain GI guaranteed or insured loans. The deadline for World War II eligibility is July 25, 1967. Eligibility has been expiring for World War II veterans according to a formula that adds ten years to the date of their last discharge from active wartime service plus one year for each ninety days of that service. The date reached by this formula is the individual deadline date for each veteran. Eligibility has expired for some World War II veterans who were in service for a short time and were discharged before or near the end of the War. Veterans who were discharged for a service-connected disability will be eligible until the final termination date. This also applies to widows of veterans who died of service-connected disabilities.
Those eligible, dependent on the area in which they reside, may obtain either a guaranteed loan from a bank or other lending institution or a direct loan from the Veterans Administration for building or buying a home. The formula for determining the length of time Korean
