Pvt. James L. Alther, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul S. Al' ther, Sperryvllle, completed a basic Army administration course at Fort Jackson, S.C. March 25. During the eight-week course, Alther was trained in the preparation and maintenance of Army records and forms and the Army filing system.
The 20-year'-old soldier entered the Army in December 1965 and completed basic train ing at Fort Jackson. He attended Rappahannock County High School.
Army Pvt. Earl D". Edwards, son of Mr. and Mrs. Buford L. Edwards, Amissville, completed the Infantry School’s three-week airborne course at Fort Benning, Ga., March 19. His training, which included five jumps from a C-130 airplane flying 170 miles an
parachutist. He entered the Army in August 1965, received basic train ing at Fort Gordon, Ga., and was last stationed at Fort Ord, Calif. The 21-year-old soldier attended G. W. Carver High School in Culpeper.
