three miles we6t of Washington at Pine Knott Inn. According to Trooper J. B. Willis this crash involved a 1965 Ford Mustang owned and operated by N. K. G. Tholand of Piedmont Farm, Sperryville and a 54 Chevrolet owned and operated by Lawrence Starks, Washington, Virginia. Investigation showed the Mus tang to be traveling west on Route 211 when the Starks vehicle pulled onto the highway from a side road atPineKnqtt Inn to head east. In making the turn onto the highway the Starks car crossed the center line and was struck by. the Tholand vehicle, said the Trooper. •-* ■Mr. Tholand, who was taken to Culpeper Memorial Hospital by Mr. Willis, sustained lacerations of the chin, abruis ed chest and injured ribs. Mrs. Tholand, a passenger with her husband, was not injured. Other passengers in the Tholand car were Knute Hokan Castegren of KallangvagenNo. 10 Lidingo, Sweden, who sustained contusions of the right leg, and his wife, Monica Ellen Castegren with lacerations of the right eye and a concussion Mr. and Mrs. Castegren were houseguests of the Tholands. They were taken to the Culpeper Hospital by Rappahannock Rescue Squad. Starks was treated at Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal for a lacerated lip and tongue and bruised chest, and released. Starks was charged with reckless driving, said Trooper Willis.
