Mrs. George W. Hawkins was hostess at a Miscellaneous Shower for Mrs. Maurice Butler, the former Carolyn Brown of Sperryville, on Sat urday the 21st at “Chilton Place* at Slate Mills. After games were played, gifts open ed and displayed, refreshments were served. Mrs. Perle Coffey, Mrs. F. D. Coffey and son Frank were guests on Sunday of Mrs. Clara Coffey and son of Tyro. On their return home they visited Mrs. Harry Smith, a patient in the University of Virginia Hospital, whose condition is satisfactory. Mrs. W. B. Willis and son Stevie are visiting Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Willis, Sr. in Char lottesville. Mrs. Gordon Payne of Madison was a guest on Sunday of her mother Mrs. J. B. Johnson.

Mr. and Mrs. Victor Weirs of Washington, D.C. spent the week-end at their country home. Mr. Weirs is associated
