Edward M. Mathews, Claims Agent of the Virginia DiTlsion of War Veterans* Claims, offers the following suggestions to veterans and beneficiaries: TO VETER ANS:
1. Bring a copy of you discharge when first seeking a benefit. 2. Always use full name and address in correspondence. 3. In writing about claims,' always give your mCm number. 4. In writing about insurance, always give your policy number. 5. Report changes of address promptly to the Veterans Administration.
6. Keep your list of insurance beneficiaries up to date. The Veterans Administration can pay insurance only to the beneficiaries whose names are on record. 7. Veterans receiving compensation or pension checks can save time, money and avoid a lapse by having their insurance premiums deducted from their monthly benefit checks. 8. Other veterans can save time and money by paying their insurance quarterly, semiannually or annually. 9. Always feel free to call on the Virginia Division of War Veterans* Claims for assistance.
TO BENEFICIARIES: 1. When writing about death benefits give the name of the deceased veteran and his *XC* number. 2. When writing about insurance, give the policy number and your name in full. 3.
