Washington Fire Departmem and Rappahannock Rescue Squad will hold a four-nighi carnival Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday,September 14, 15, 16, and 17 ai the carnival grounds just outside of the town on Route 211 A parade is scheduled foi Thursday night, the 15th anc prizes will be awarded the clot ing night, Saturday. There wil be games, rides> food-and entertainment for all.

“Blue Rock Farm”, 300-acre horse farm owned by Mr. ane Mrs. Gordon R. Johnstone has been sold and the Johnstones will soon move to their new horse farm near Bedford Pennsylvania, the fashionable resort center in the southerr part of the state. Bedford is known for its warm springs, its nearby ski runs and other recreational activities. The Johnstones have bought, just nine miles from Bedford, a country estate of 140 bluegrass acres with an eight room stone home built in 1779 and remodelec by a retired general. In a setting of beautiful trees, the home has four bedrooms, two baths and help quarters. It is only ten minutes from the Bedford Turnpike Interchange, and the Johnstones, both expert horse trainers, plan eventually to open an inn with horse facilities.
