Parties Honoring Miss Carolyn Turner

The marriage of Miss Carolyn Gates Turner of Washington to Mr. William Scott Dewhirst of Hampton will take place Saturday, August 13 at 4:30 p.m. in the Washington Baptist Church. Many recent bridal parties have complimented Miss Turner and Mr. Dewhirst. In Hampton they were honored by a luncheon given by the Himandher Club at The Oasis, Hampton. Mr. and Mrs. Albert L. White, Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Albert L. White, III entertained in their honor at dinner at the junior White’s home on Hampton Roads Avenue. Miss Turner and Mr. Dewhirst were guests of honor at a dinner party with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Boyer hosts at their home on Algonquin Road. Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Hill of Hampton Roads Avenue feted Mr. Dewhirst and MissTur-j ner at a Bridge party. In Richmond parties in their honor included a tea by the Ladies of the Richmond Chapter, National Guard at the home of Mrs. Richard Hedgeparth. Mrs. J. E. Stone and Miss Lucy Page Stone entertained at luncheon at Westwood Club and Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Hesby were hosts at a cocktail party at 900 West Franklin Street. County officials of Henrico County entertained Mr. Dewhirst at a Stag Party at Dobbs House Restaurant. Miss Turner is the daughter of Mrs. Lewis John Turner of Washington and the late Mr. Turner. Mr. Dewhirst is the son of Mr and Mrs. Harold H. Dewhirst of Hampton.
