$7,150. Since the Rappahannock VEA is requesting a $7,200 minimum for Bachelors and they are presently receiving $6,500, this would be an increase of $700. Bachelor’s maximum which now stands at $8,300, is requested for increase to $9,240 or a $940 increase.
Fifteen other local associations are asking that next year’s new teachers ,be paid from $7,000 to $7 100.
Following Fairfax’s $14,705 Proposal for bachelor-degree teachers at the top of the scale are Virginia Beach, $14,000; Prince William, $13,600; and Loudoun, $13,200. The lowest proposed maximum to date is $8,650 in Nottoway.
Requested increases on the minimum scale range from $0 in Frederick and Winchester to $1,500 in Prince William.

The law firm of Fray and Hudson, in Culpeper, consisting of J. L. Fray, J. B. Hudson, Jr. and T. C. Lea, Jr. announced on January 1 that the firm name has been changed to Fray, Hudson and Lea.
Mr. Lea is a native of Rappahannock County, son of Mrs. T. C. Lea of Washington and the late Mr. Lea. He is married to the former Miss Sally Howie and they have four children.
