It was my privilege to spend the evening with friends a few days ago. The television program they were watching was about a young wife who was a witch. I asked if either thought there are witches in these times. The husband with emphatic “NO”! The wife said she thought there are spirits. Now, we are taught that there are good and evil spirits, but what about witches? It seems that a witch is feminine, a male witch a warlock. Either is supposed to have gained their power by making a compact with the devil, this power is supernatural, it is the power to conjure, prophesy, and do works of magic. It is my guess that seers, soothsayers, sorcerers and necromancers are in this category.
